About Me

Hello again! I am a postdoctoral fellow at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

My research expertise is in political and feminist philosophy. I also have competency in epistemology, ethics, philosophy of emotion, and philosophy of law.

In my dissertation, I argue that religious reasons are excluded from the public sphere in three salient ways: in a distinctly political sense, an epistemic sense, and a testimonial sense. To the extent that these forms of exclusion are unfair, I argue that religious reasons  ought to be included in our public deliberations, and can be done so in ways that are compatible with aims of political liberalism.

Other things about me:

I like to bake and cook and (like everyone else) watch the occasional movie, but I mainly like to be outside in the sun. And since I am from Vancouver Island, I find myself most at home when I am next to the ocean. I like to hike, swim, travel, and practice yoga. Most importantly, I have a deep love for my family and friends, and consider my relationships with them to be the greatest gifts in life. Life is always better shared.

Thesis: The Exclusion of Religious Reasons

Description: In my thesis, I argue that religious reasons are excluded from the public sphere in three salient ways: in a distinctly political sense, an epistemic sense, and a testimonial sense. To the extent that these forms of exclusion are unfair, I argue that religious reasons ought to be included in our public deliberations, and can be done so in ways that are compatible with the project of political liberalism.
